Five Minute Friday: Fill

It's the first stop in the morning, before I have spoken to another soul. Before breakfast. Before chores. Before life.
It is my sunrise.
It is the wake-up call, the best smell this side of North Texas in a house of men who do not always smell good.
Sometimes it's topped with milk, sometimes cream, sometimes both. It is dark and full, never light, never weak-that just won't do.
And as I pour, it reminds me of the newness of the day, when our mistakes haven't been made and our words are still kind and we haven't had to ask for forgiveness yet (hopefully).
If I ever had to make the choice between it and life, it would be dangerous to all involved.
